Women of Color Be the Media was Fan-tas-tic

Over 40 women of color (and a few allies) came together in the Bronx for a one-day mini-conference for women of color who wanted to build their communications skills while also building a community of women of color who are sharing our visions for social justice.

“Impactful, informative, educational, productive, powerful, enriching, spiritually deepening, intellectually stimulating, loving, empowering, inspiring, grounding, intergenerational, worth the while!” These are just a few of the reflections that participants shared about their experience at Women of Color Be the Media! on April 27, 2013 in NYC.

There’s a photo album up on Standing in Our Power’s Facebook page.

We’ve got several presentations and some Twitter highlights posted in the NYC 2013 Report Back section of this website.

For followup events, check out the Facebook page for Standing in Our Power, or the PCN website.

Thanks again to our co-sponsors for Women of Color Be the Media in New York City: North Star Foundation, Hostos Community College, Casa Atabex Ache and the NY Civic Engagement Table.

Keep your eyes out for when we announce Boston’s 8th Be the Media! later in 2013.
